Wake Alarm Guide
How to find an alarm app with no subscription
Updated November 7, 2026
Many alarm apps are free to download and then ask for a weekly or yearly plan the first time you open them. Sometimes the plan starts as a free trial that turns into a charge a few days later. You can spot this before you install, and undo it if it has already happened.
Check the App Store page before you download
- Open the app's page in the App Store on your iPhone.
- Scroll down to Information and tap In-App Purchases. You'll see every item the app sells, with its price.
- Read the names. Words like weekly, monthly, yearly, premium or pro next to prices usually mean a subscription. A single item called something like lifetime or unlock is usually a one-time purchase.
- Read the newest one- and two-star reviews. If people mention a trial, a surprise charge or features locked after a few days, believe them.
“Free” on the download button only means the download is free. The In-App Purchases list is where the real price is.
Signs an alarm app is really free
- You can set and save an alarm before any price screen appears.
- The thing that wakes you, the alarm and its task, works without paying.
- Nothing stops working after 3 or 7 days.
- The paid part, if any, is an extra you could live without.
If all you need is a plain alarm, the Clock app that comes with your iPhone is free and works well. A task alarm is for people who switch the alarm off and fall back asleep.
If a trial has already started
You can cancel a trial on your iPhone and keep using it until the trial ends:
- Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the app, then Cancel Subscription or Cancel Free Trial.
Do it at least 24 hours before the trial ends. App Store subscriptions renew automatically unless they are cancelled at least a day before the period runs out. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
If you were charged and didn't mean to be, you can ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Choose the purchase and say what happened.
What Wake Alarm costs
| What | Price |
|---|---|
| Alarms with repeat days | Free |
| Math task: solve 3 sums | Free |
| Shake task: 30 shakes | Free |
| Rings again every 2 minutes, up to 5 more times, until the task is done | Free |
| Photo tasks and wake-time stats | Lifetime, one payment |
There's no trial, no subscription and no account. The free part has no time limit, and Math and Shake will never be locked later. Lifetime is one payment that you keep, and you can restore it on a new iPhone.
